A Doctor of Medicine in General Medicine, Dr Babu Narayanan has more than 25 years of experience in the healthcare sector. From being a medical practitioner to efficiently managing clinical operations for large multi-speciality hospitals, he has developed a diverse set of skills. He is proficient at handling cases in General Medicine, Intensive Care Medicine, Toxicology, Emergency Medicine, Diabetology, HIV Medicine, and Parkinson’s disease. Over the years, he has accomplished major landmarks in his career such as playing a significant role in setting up the Parkinson’s Research and Treatment Centre in collaboration with King’s College, London, and developing and linking 34 poison treatment centres across Tamil Nadu making it the first of its kind in the country. He was also actively involved in controlling the Covid-19 pandemic by being one of the representatives of the Tamil Nadu Covid Expert Panel.

A few noteworthy positions held by him in government and business forums are, Member of Minimum Wages Fixation Committee for Tamil Nadu, an active Member of the CII-TN Healthcare Panel, active member of the AHPI-TN Chapter, State Chairman for Tamil Nadu in CAHO, and Member of the Expert Committee formed under the Tamil Nadu Health & Family Welfare Department to set up fire & safety measures in the state’s government and private hospitals.
